SOLCRATES – Sustainable Cooling with Biochar Composites for Advanced Thermochemical Energy Storage
SOLCRATES develops the next generation of sorption-based thermochemical energy storage (TCES) for refrigeration by combining fundamental studies of biochar-based absorbents with the engineering of an innovative helical transport reactor. Using low-cost biochar from agro-industrial waste and inorganic salts, the project advances a circular, scalable approach to thermal energy storage with high energy and power densities.
